These licensed Assisted Living Residences (ALR’s) are Specialized Memory Care communities for people living with Alzheimer’s, and other types of memory impairments. They typically feature safe and secure environments, programs, activities and events that are specifically designed for memory loss. They are usually more home-like with 12 residents or less and with a higher staffing ratio, 24 hours awake staff and highly trained staff in memory loss to reduce the confusion, anxiety and behaviors often associated when in regular Assisted Living Homes or Communities.
